Georgia Institute of Technology has developed a prototype device, that blocks unwanted Video & Still photography at a given area. The team of Interactive and Intelligent Computing division of the Georgia Tech College of Computing (COC), uses off-the-shelf equipment-camera-mounted sensors, lighting equipment, a projector and a computer to find and neutralize digital cameras. The new camera-neutralizing technology has high utility in the fields where protecting limited areas against clandestine photography or stopping video copying in larger areas, like theaters. Preventing movie copying would be chief application for camera-blocking technology and it can even prevent espionage photography in government buildings, trade shows, industrial settings etc. with motion picture industry looking for technology to foil movie piracy, the new technology might end the fraud of pirated movies.
