skyseer-small.pngDrones or unmanned aerial vehicles weighting about 5 pounds are put to test by Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. These are equipped with GPS device and a camera and shall complement the helicopters of the department, where its dangerous to go. The drones’ look like toys and can fly at speeds up to 48 kms/per hour. The unmanned aerial vehicles have been designed by Octatron, Inc and are called SkySeer and could be used to trace missing children, search for lost hikers, or survey a fire zone. It would be useful to nab burglary suspects on rooftops and chase down suspects fleeing on foot. It’s a high-tech kite and could be set up in a matter of minutes.
