Cisco’s division ‘Linksys’ debut into security webcam market

Cisco Systems, small business division Linksys has introduced a new wireless camera system called ‘Linksys Wireless-G PTZ Internet Camera’ that integrates physical security tools with computer networks. The camera enables to feed live video and audio over the Internet that can be viewed or listened to using any Web browser. The Linksys Wireless-G PTZ internet camera has remote security management capabilities and will be sold for $299. The standard Web cams need to be attached directly to a PC, but the PTZ Internet Camera features its own IP address so that it can instead be connected to Ethernet or wireless networks.
